La Quinta focuses on quality of life and the joys that accompany
it
Set in the picturesque Coachella Valley a few miles east of Palm Springs, La
Quinta is an exclusive residential community kissed by the sun and caressed by
gentle breezes as they sweep down the dramatic Santa Rosa and Chocolate Mountains.
Encircled by panoramic views, La Quinta focuses on quality of life and the joys
that accompany it. Those who live here have chosen this pristine desert community,
in part, because of the year 'round sunshine and the limitless recreational and
cultural opportunities that enhance sophisticated, yet casual, California living.
La Quinta presents a host of cultural and social opportunities to residents.
The La Quinta Arts Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated
to promoting and cultivating the arts through education. With their annual Spring
Festival they bring the work of over 250 internationally recognized fine artists
to the Coachella Valley.
A few minutes drive from La Quinta is The McCallum Theater for the Performing
Arts, a premier showcase for artists, theater and dance companies from around
the world.
The Palm Springs Desert Museum is a nationally accredited art and natural science
facility which features sculpture gardens, permanent and changing exhibitions
and the acclaimed 450-seat Annenberg Theater, host to dance, theater and musical
performances. Also in Palm Springs, the world-famous Aerial Tramway that carries
passengers from the desert floor to the Mountain Station at an elevation of 8,516
feet, delights visitors from around the world.
Rich in entertainment and recreational choices, the desert also presents the
Palm Springs Air Museum; The Living Desert, a wild animal reserve and botanical
garden; championship polo; and the La Quinta Historical Society Museum, among
a host of others.
Most exciting to the avid golfer are the world-class courses that comprise
PGA West. Inspired by the dramatic terrain and idyllic climate, PGA West
in La Quinta is the world's greatest collection of private, stadium and tournament
golf courses.
Within this renown golf community there are six championship courses designed
by five legendary names in golf: The Jack Nicklaus Private Course, named by Golf
Magazine as one of the world's top 100 courses. The TPC® Stadium Golf Course
by Pete Dye, also named one of Golf Magazine's top 100 courses in the world. The
prestigious Jack Nicklaus Tournament Course. The distinguished Arnold Palmer Private
Course. The elegant Tom Weiskopf Private Course. And, the most recent addition,
the famed new Norman Course.
